Honda 2002 Odyssey Brakes

My 2002 Honda Odyssey (6 cyl.) has 143000 miles. I just replaced the master cylinder and the booster unit, which apparently was damaged by leaking brake fluid. But the brakes still aren't right, and the mechanics are stumped. Pads are all good, rotors are fine. They mentioned something about a problem with the lines or the ABS system, but they say they've never seen anything quite like this. They're generally excellent mechanics and work at something until they get it right, but this has them scratching their heads. Suggestions anyone?

Sorry, I meant the pressure in the brakes still isn't correct. When the master cylinder went, the pedal felt very low and would come up if I pumped the pedal a few times. They replaced the booster unit because it still wasn't holding pressure due to damaged seals from leaking brake fluid. But the pressure apparently still isn't right, and now they're looking at the ABS system.

Just talked to the mechanic. It's the ABS modulator that's leaking. They finally isolated it by putting high pressure brake pressure on wheels 3 at a time, and the modulator leaked fluid. They put back the old booster unit, which wasn't the problem, and I'm not being charged for it. However, a new ABS modulator is about $970 plus labor. I will get a little break since replacing the master cylinder didn't solve the original problem (low brake pedal), but I'm starting to wonder about this investment. I would like to keep the van for 2 more years and have a very short commute to work, so I'm not putting high mileage or long travel time on it. Right now, it's not worth much unless it's fixed, so trading it in means I'll probably take a $2K bath because that's what they'll tell me it needs to get it running. Either that, or they'll smile and say we'll give you $5K and the'll find a way to stick it in the new car price. Selling it as is means it's not worth much either. So it's the rock and the hard place, right? Mechanic says the rest of the vehicle is sound. What would you recommend? Fix it or start shopping?
