I have a 84 mustang v6 with 35,000 miles. i am having trouble gettin the two fuel pumps to work. First i tested the one under the frame by hooking it up to a battary and it worked. then i tried the one in the gas tank and that one worked also. so then i checked the fuses but couldnt find a fuse that said fuel pump. I did find the fuel pump relay under the drivers side seat. i replaced that and tried again still nothing. For some reason there is no power going to the fuel pumps and i dont know why. Can some one please help me!!!!!!!!!!

First check the Inertia switch in the trunk to determine if it has tripped. Look for the red button on top to have tripped up. If they Inertia switch is OK, go back to square one and test for spark and injector pulse. Also, be aware that the fuel pump only powers for 2 seconds when the key is turned on and doesn't restart until it see a tach signal from cranking so no tach signal, no fuel pump. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
