I have a 1993 Mercury Tracer that has set for a little over a year and it was starting with a jump but would cut off when I tried to move it.My girlfriend tried jumping it why I was at work one day and said she may have connected the cables backwards. Now it won't start at all , so I replaced the battery and it still won't start. Theres no power to nothing but the high beams.I think the problem is with the main fuse (100 amp)but I'm not sure.I would greatly appreciate any help at all on this situation.

If she has given your car reverse polarity with a jump, this could be more than a fuse. In fact, PRAY its your fuse. It could have fried your CPU. I would replace ALL fuses under the hood, in the fuse box. And try again. But i am in serious doubt you will be able to get this one fixed cheaply.

Try googling "Reverse polarity jump start" and see it what it tells you. I did, and its not looking good buddy. you may get lucky by replacing the fuse. I am sorry.Unsure

Have you checked to see if the fuse is blown? You are with the vehicle and can check the current with a test light. All we can offer is assistance. See if you can find where the current stops. Give us a little more information as to what else may or may not work.
