Lack of power on sudden acceleration Sign In

Hello. Im having a problem with my 2007 Chevy Malibu. It starts fine, idles fine, sounds fine. All spark plugs are firing. I don't have any problem with normal acceleration. Its sudden acceleration that i have a problem with, like when I accelerate to pass someone. Cars rpms will climb but cars speed will not increase. The only code that I get is a P0430 code, catalytic converter is not working effectively. Is this the problem. If this was the problem, wouldnt i have a sluggish car all the time and not just under sudden acceleration. Any information would be helpful.

Thanks Cool

Yep, sounds like a plugged Cat. You should do some testing to confirm that.
