2005 Taurus 3.0, 6cyl. 95000 miles. Have a loud humming sound coming from passenger side of engine. Replaced both pullies (idler and tensioner ). Still there, after I replaced power steering pump, sound still there. Noticed tensioner was out of kilt so replaced that one and still the humming sound. Now I feel a slight vibration on steering column when stopped. What's next??

Might be time to start diagnosing and stop throwing parts at it. You should be able feel it in the individual pulley by spinning them by hand with the belt removed. You're probably down to either the water pump, alternator or the A/C compressor ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Which 3.0L? DOHC or OHV? Can you record the noise and upload it to a video hosting site and then paste the link to it in here? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Its the 3.0 OHV. Would malfunctioning PCV valve cause that sound?

Remove the valve from the cover and put your finger over the hole in the end with the engine running. See if the noise goes away. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
