Mk1 Cupra Boosting problem Sign In

Hi there,

I have a Seat leon Cupra mk1 (1.8T AUQ) stage 2, however there is a big powerloss anywhere after 10-20mins driving.

The turbo boosts, then after diagnostic it fails to deliver and just dosnt boost unitll engine is restarted.

I have replaced N75 valve, serviced the dump valve but nothings worked. Feels like the engine is bieng pulled into limp mode. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Car Specs:

1.8T AUQ Engine (K03s turbo)
Stage 2
Custom Remapp
Forge DV
K&N Induction Kit
Milteck Cat Back Exhaust

225bhp, 270ft/lb should be running about 1.5bar boost

Step one get rid of the K&N air intake junk as it can't help and only confuse the thing.
BTW - The site is US based and the exact car isn't sold here so limited as to specifics on it for you.
Any aftermarket stuff altering engine isn't good for it or it would be used from new tells you it's junk,

Hey man,

Nothing wrong with the K&N, provides good intake air through the intake pipe, not some cheap filter kit.

Ah sorry I am new and unaware this was US exclusive, it was set to stage 2 by a prof. company AMD, however that was a few years back.

Was just wondering if any turbo car owners have experienced a similar issue. Thanks for the reply

Custom Remapp

This thing is modified? What happens if you reinstall the original calibration? Maybe reinstall the original calibration and troubleshoot it from there. Can you have the person that remapped it figure out what is going on?

Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

? Agree - can it be put back? Reason for my dislike of K&N and most other modifications are they leave out serious considerations like proper monitoring of incoming air temp and pressures. It's possible to upgrade power for track purposes that just aren't going to make the vehicle run well under the widest range of conditions it's expected to adjust to and apparently not doing too well is it?
Temperature is highly involved with density of air which "Turbo" is doing. So some aftermarket junk that isn't high on my list of reputable companies anyway knows so much more about it? Guess again - wrong! Car makers jump wild hurdles at surreal costs of engineering. The junk stuff makers just want fast bucks. Do the math.
Has K&N ever made so much as a weed whacker engine? NO! Case closed,
T
