I have a 2002 Honda Odyssey with 175k miles, 3.5l v6 engine. So my car couldn’t start I barely drove just started it up from time to time making sure it still started till it didn’t. I just took out the battery which did have corrosion on the positive terminal. I cleaned the corrosion with baking soda and water to get it off recleaning because I scrubbed the wires instead of soaking in cup of solution. But what made me check them again was because when I attached the positive cable on and then the negative cable it started sparking and crackling and smoking and kept doing this so I stopped. I’m re cleaning everything again to make sure that wasn’t why. Could that be why?

You're installing the battery backwards and have likely done serious damage already. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
