I just got a 300ZX with 57k miles. when i come up to a red light i tend to put it into neutral and just slow down with the foot brake. when i do this going 30 miles an hour and up the car will completley shut off and i will have to turn the key and start it again while im still rolling. i found that if i keep the car in gear and dont put it into neutral till im under about 20 miles an hour it wont stall but i still wanted to know if anyone knows why it does this and how to fix it.

Not trying to be smart but it doesnt stall when not doing your trick then.......... To give a reason I would venture that it is scewing up the eng computer . It's seeing that the throttle is closed (idle) but the speed sensor says the car is doing 30 mph. Does not compute. LIFE'S SHORT GO FISH
