Nissan Altima - Check engine Light Sign In

My 2005 Nissan Altima 2.5 S with 135k miles, had check engine light come on last month. I took it to brakes plus & they said that throttle body sensor has the problem but since Altima has this sensor built in the throttle body, they said that entrire throttle body needs to be replaced. They charged me 500$ & replaced with after market throttle body. After that my car had problems relearning the computer & was idling at higher RPM. They took three days to make my car relearn the computer. Finally everything seemed to be working fine but after one month (500 miles), check engine light came back & this time they said that it was P0420 code & rear oxygen sensor(350 including labour) needs to be replaced (they said it could even be a bad Catayltic converter & in that case would cost $900). I declined the service & came back home. When they inspected the car, they might have reset the check engine light & it only came back after 10 days. My car worth is 4K & I have already spent lot of amount on thsi vehicle. Please suggest me the best approcah to get this issue fixed.

It appears they didn't know how to do the idle relearn. It has to be done with a scan tool and takes about 10 minutes.

The P0420 is a bad Catalytic Converter.
