Nissan Maxima New Brakes Tight & Rubbing Sign In

Hello

I have a 97 Nissan Maxima of which I just replaced the front brake pads (disc brakes). After installing the new pads, I noticed as I put the calipers back on (on both sides), they were very tight and I had to really work to get them over the pads and lined up to screw them back in. And before putting them both back on, I made sure that the piston on each was fully retracted. After everything was back on I test drove it to make sure everything was working properly. My braking ability performed like they should have with new pads, but the car was noticably sluggish while idling because there was definitely some rubbing while driving. Even at high speeds I couldn't take my foot off the gas for more than a couple seconds because it would lose speed so quickly. Any ideas on what the problem could be and how I can fix it?

Thank you

Wrong pads, installed incorrectly, bad calipers..........
