Oil Leak After Oil Change Sign In

I took my car to get an oil change at Pep Boys. I noticed a couple weeks later there was an oil leak. This has been going on for at least 2-3 weeks now. I took it back to them and asked if they could check and see if everything was tight. They looked and said both the drain plug and oil filter were on properly.
Now it could be totally coincidental but my spidey senses tell me that the problem occurred there (at Pep Boys, when they changed my oil).

Any thoughts? And is there anyway I can insist Pep Boys takes care of this? I don't know for sure that they are responsible but this car NEVER leaked a drop in the 14 years I've had it. And it all of a sudden starts leaking oil right after an oil change.

Thanks in advanced.

I can't tell for sure. Car is pretty low to the ground and I have a bad back. But pretty front and off center, favoring the passenger side.

You'll have to get the vehicle in the air to figure out where the oil leak is originating from. Once you know the location, then you can figure out who or what to blame.

I was afraid of that. In what situation would it be Pep Boy's fault? If the leak is coming from the oil pan or oil filter?

Re: Oil Leak After Oil Change Sign In

The drain plug and oil filter are the only thing they touched in the service, so anything leaking other than that has nothing to do with them and more to do with being a 14 year old car that coincidentally developed a leak. Its par for the course with a used car.
