Oil Pressure Sending Unit....HELP! Sign In

I recently attempted to replace the oil pressure sending unit in a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. When I went to replace it however, I found out that the tab on the sensor was brok and I am unable to remove the sensor to get to the unit to remove it.

I can't afford to take it to a repair shop so I am hoping someone might be able to help me figure out how to get it off?

What is the best way to get to the area? Remove the oil filter and go in from below or should I remove the belt and other obstructions from the top?

Thank you very much in advance!

By breaking off the tabs i assume you mean the electrical contacts, and assume its a 4.0 L eng .This will not make any difference. they make a special socket just for oil senders.you may be able to get it with a box end wrench, or a open end wrench if you remove filter.
