Pickup Bed Options

Hello I have a '95 Chevy 1500 Pickup, the bed of the truck has one of those snap on cover tarps. This way of putting things in and out of the bed is a real pain in the a** but it was with the truck when I bought it so what I was wondering is, is there a way to make it easier to remove & reseal each time? I was thinking it would be possible to fabricate some sort of new frame with hinges every 2 feet or so and make it so it just kinda folds up like a mat. Would that be possible? Does anybody have any suggestions or alternatives? I'll appreciate any feedback so thanks in advanced.

Ya I've seen stuff like that but the price is always upwards of $1000. I didn't really feel like paying that much, so was hoping for some cheaper options.
