2006 Pontiac Montana SV6 70000 Miles Hey Guys. We noticed the rear wiper not working after we had an AC Recharge guy try to fix the AC. Aparentally He was pulling fuses and the like to try and get the AC to work. We ended up taking the car to a shop to have a wire to the AC fan repaired to get the AC working. Then we noticed the rear wiper all of a sudden diddn't work. The machanic that fixed the AC said he would jiggle the switch and it would work sometimes...well now it does not work at all. I have replaced the fuse on the inside panel and the wiper relay on the engine fuse panel with no success. The front wipers, turn signal and rear wiper fluid all work fine. What do you guys think might be the problem? Thanks for the help.

They told you that jiggling the switch would make it work. How can that be anything but the switch? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Now even jiggling the switch doesn't work. Is there a way to test that it is the switch? Can I put a multimeter in the sockets of the relay? Or should I test it in the fuse inside the car?

Sure, you can run tests on the switch if you have a test light and know how to read a wiring diagram. It's not as simple as your portraying it though.

OK for 1, there is no relay for the rear wiper in these cars. Second. I ended up taking the rear door apart to see the wiper motor. I tested the voltage at the connector to the motor. There are 4 ports, I tested between the far left and far right and got 12 volts. Meaning the switch was just fine. Took the motor apart and found the gears would not move. Manually applied 12v to the motor and it ran fine till it bound up. Must have major corrotion in the shaft which I can not get to. Couldn't even get it to move on a vice. Bought a new motor for $70 online and installed it today. Everything is back to normal :)
