Power Brake Booster...

I think I know the answer to this but I am not sure. My power brakes (Mazda 626 - 1999 - 2.0) work well but may be leaking vacuum. When my foot is off the brake the idle is soothe. When I am on the brakes (not moving my foot) the idle slows and gets a bit rough. I don't think the booster is supposed to use vacuum unless your foot is moving down on the pedal? Could someone verify this for me?

You may be correct about that. You can try pinching off the booster hose to determine if the engine runs better. Just be careful as you won't have any power brakes. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
