I've got a buddy with a 2003 dodge 2500 with a 5.9 cvummins. A while ago he starts have a little issue with the power steering not working at idle. It got worse until now there is practically nothing. We were going to start with the pump, but some guys on other forums were talking about a hydro-booster??? what is it?where is it???what exactly does it do???

Not a Mopar guy but basics here: Hydro Boost is sharing PS pump for brakes. You would see that lack of a round booster for vacuum assist if so and hydraulic lines going to booster between master cyl. and firewall. If pump can make brakes work at idle more than a couple pushes than there may be another issue than the pump. They can be pressure tested. Make sure fluid is full and if hydraulics has been opened up for any reason follow bleeding procedures - for now guess is turn fully left to right with front wheels hoisted and press brake intermittently if hydraulic. May take several times if air is in the system, T
