Question about Road Test Mileage

Hello!
I need some help with a couple of terms i´m not familiar with.

I have in front of me a technicians checklist... which is check list of things mechanics need to check in a car.... and two of the subjects are:

Road test mileage in
Road test mileage out

and I just don´t know what those mean.... obviaously it has something to do with the mileage testing... but what do the "in" and "out" mean??

can somebaody please help me out!

Did you ask the mechanics or the shop that made that list what those two things mean?

I would it it means the odometer reading when he left for a road test and the reading when he returned to document the amount of miles that he drove it.
