Remote Starter Question Sign In

I just bought a new car and it came with a python remote starter system (I'm not sure which model) I figured out that i'm able to remotely start it by pressing and holding 'Lock' and 'Unlock' but thats all I know how to do with the system. I don't know how to shut it off, I don't know how to drive the vehicle. I get it and put my key in and turn it to the On position but as soon as i hit the brake to take it out of gear it shuts off.

The remote has 4 buttons on it 'Lock' , 'Unlock' , 'Aux' , and 'Panic Button' (in case this proves revelant)

Re: Remote Starter Question Sign In

There are as many different remote starting systems as there are different debit card machines in stores. LOL
They all kind of work the same with little differences; the system is supposed to turn the engine off, if the ignition isn’t in the run position; just in the on position, might only be the accessory position in your vehicle. Also if you push the same button(s) as you would to start the engine; they usually will turn it off.

Are you sure you’re turning the ignition all the way to the run position?

Most systems are wired into the vehicle too start & run, along with allowing your heater/AC system to work. The rest of the accessories remain off, until the ignition is turned to the run position.

A lot of people are afraid that they’re going to turn the ignition too far and cause the starter to engage.
What I ask them to do (until they get use to the system); is too turn something on, like the wipers or something that will only work when the car is running, with the use of the keys to start and run the vehicle.
Then shut the vehicle off, with the wipers(whatever) on; the next time they use the remote; they will know when the ignition is in the proper position, when whatever begins working.

Maybe if you were to goggle python remote starter, you might be able to find a users guide?

I checked python's website and went through every model they had listed, but none resembled the model of remote I have. I'm going to try what you suggessted to turn the key until something like the wipers come on.

Maybe talk to the people/carlot you bought it from....I'm sure they have to know how to start it.

Just curious....you did test drive it before you bought it....correct???
