Scams Sign In

I just placed an ad here, and already got two scamer from here,
Both want to send me more money for what I'm asking for my engine, sending back the
difference. I know this is a scam. I still have a $4,000.00 check, that was bogus from the same scam.
Yes I still have my parts. Is this a save place to sell parts, and buy parts?
Thank you,
Bruce

Re: Scams Sign In

I know of NO info gathering or problems or scams with this site. If you think you have had a problem, please contact the site's webmaster. All I can say for now is that this site seems real clean, but some people can still get in here and cause some troubles as with most any site. Best of luck to fix your troubles, Tom

Re: Scams Sign In

Hi Tom,
Thanks for the reply.
It was more of a warning of these scams.
It's hard for us who just want to sell and trade parts so we can
build our projects with out the scum messing it up.
I just don't want anyone losing money or their parts.
I was lucky and head a warning from a friend and never shipped
my parts.
Thanks,
Bruce
I'm looking forward to selling on CarJuknky and reading your forums.

Re: Scams Sign In

Hi Walker,

Here is a reply I put in the open posting section..

Quote

To be honest, foreign scammers true to get people to send products over seas all the time. Best pratice is to only sell to Residents within your own country. And when your dealing with large purchases sales and orders its advisable to use an escrow service or large american know companies to handle the transaction..

Most these scammers will try and offer you a lot more then you are asking and will then try to get you to send them the extra cash.

As with safe... as long as you don't ship anything that hasn't been paid for then its safe. Also make sure a check clears first and wait an extra 2 - 3 days. Remember that major companies do this so there is a reason for them waiting a little longer.

As with someoone sending you a check ....you should never send any parts or merchandise until the check clears YOUR bank.... I could go to an office max or staples and buy a box of printable checks for $10 bucks,

As with the check I'm not sure if there is somewhere you could send it such as the FBI or something. Does anyone else know.

We found this site reguarding the Check Scams also go to this site Fraud.org

Some GOOD Facts from the above article:

Whatever the set-up, the bottom line is if someone you don't know wants to pay you by check but wants you to wire money back, it's a scam.

Just because you can withdraw the money doesn't mean the check is good, even if it's a cashier's check

Think about it, when was the last timeyou wrote a check to pay for a bill and asked them to send you the extra money back!!!!

So the next time someone wants to have you wire money back take down the bank information and submit it on fraud.org .... using the "Online Complaint Form"
