Squeaking or squealing noise help please.

I recently had my water pump replaced immediately after a squeaky noise is coming from under the hood. Any ideas what this might be?

The bad water pump probably leaked coolant onto the belts. Once they are contaminated you can't stop the squealing. You just have to wash the pulleys and replace the belt.

Is this something the mechanic should have anticipated/resolved while replacing the water pump?

The smart ones would have anticipated that but most of them will just react to the noise.

Is it most likely the water pump if theres a squeaking coming from there and losing all my coolant?

That's not what I said.
If you previously had a bad water pump, then it likely leaked onto the belt either while driving or while changing it. That's when the belt got contaminated.
Once coolant gets into the belt, it will not come out.
