Steering Faults & Problems Sign In

Cars stats:

Year Of Car: 2007
Make Of Car: Vauxhall
Model Of Car: Astra
Mileage: 22,000

Problem: Basically i have just bought a new car and was just wondering what faults could a 2007 ford steering system get and what would be the best was to check for the faults, at the moment i don't have any faults with it but i am just interested to know for a later date incase something could go wrong, such as crack, loose bolts or anything that can cause the steering system to brake or not function properly, any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated,

Kind Regards,
Wayne

Wayne - Anything is on the maybe list but bolts loosening up by themselves not very high on that list. When anything in the car doesn't feel or sound right then check it out. It could go ages without needed steering repair - can't say as it's fine now as far as you know.

Do find out if there are any grease fittings. Some cars do use them some don't. Some cars that don't the replacement part may so you need to know that much.

You should have the owners/operators manual which should have a checklist of things to check or replace by time and miles. Follow those suggestions,

T
