Strange Rattling noise when accelerating at low speed Sign In

I am getting the following sound on a Toyota Harrier 2014. 2WD.

YouTube video:

https://youtu.be/GDv4_Pw4Fyw

The noise goes away when I accelerate.

I have exhausted mechanics trying to fix this issue.

Over 3000USD spent, change mounts and some work was done on transmission belt and pulley replacement.

Vehicle Specs:

Toyota Harrier :Model : DBA- ZSU60W-ANXGP Engine: 3ZR-FAE Frame: ZSU60-0021882 TRIM: FA43 Transmission: K114- 01A

Please help :(

Thanks.

Not sold here (US) doesn't matter IMO. Sounded like engine, a double knock? A deep sound like that rare for a rod bearing but is like that.

Other things make noises are always tough vs in person even then an assortment of similar noises can mimic what it really is and be something else than guesses.

One old trick was cancel a cylinder one at a time (short period of time) see if it goes away on just one can narrow it down,

That sounds a lot like a broken harmonic balancer.

Try turning the AC off and on while idling and see if it changes the sound.

AC does not change the count, it happens at very low RPM in traffic and after that there is no sound after accelerated to certain speed.

Noise is around drive shaft are but noise travels. It only occurs at very low RPM when breaking.

Have you checked the torque converter to flex plate bolts?

Re: Strange Rattling noise when accelerating at low speed Sign In

It can be the bolts from the flexplate to the crank or from the flexplate to the torque converter. Once they get loose they will elongate the holes and make a big mess.

Can be. Another totally had a bend/flaw in an inspection plate just bent it back. IDK this car/thing but if like that just hitting something could make a deadly sounding noise was nothing really, Tom
