1995 Pontiac Sunfire, 2.2 5 speed, 179,000 ..... Car is Jerky and misses while driving down the road more so when at constant speed and cruise.... will start and accelerate great. I have noticed that the plugs are white like its running hot and lean. check engine light was on when my girlfriend was driving it and like a dumby I disconnected the battery without checkin the code.... when I bought the car it was sitting in a field for 3 years with a bad head and gasket.... 4 years and 40,000 miles later, starter, alternater, plugs, fuel filter....Thats it. let me know what you think..... I don't think its the head gasket again, today I looked at the lifters and there is no white, slugde or water to be seen.... plug one was hotter and dirtier than the others. everything else is original.

Would be nice to know what trouble code(s) were being stored. Inspect the coils and make sure the coil towers aren't corroded out. If so, replace the coils and wires. Are you losing coolant? Is it overheating? Make sure the cooling fan is operational. Bad fan motor or inop cooling fan are usually the cause of blown head gaskets on those. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
