Tires + Brakepads Sign In

Hi
I need some suggestions from gurus here.
I have a 92 lexus es 300 .Taking it to regular maintainence I found out that I need a new set of tires.
Now if I get the non-branded tires purchased +installed from the auto shop I shell out 590 $$.
Else if I bring my own tires he says he would cut 360 $ and still charge me the balance .

I am planning to get tires from discount tire online .Pirelli costs me 75 bucks each .
My question is how reliable is it to get tires from discount tires online considering they are selling me Pirellis for 75 bucks.
I don't have Sams club or Costco membership .

Also I need to get my brake pads done .

So do i have to do these both jobs together?
I mean in 1 go ..
or
can I do the tires and then do the brake pads later.(Balancing and all that stuff...)

Pls help..

Brakes vs Tires: If either are toast you need them all at once. If tires are still legal get the brakes now if you know they are gone or real low.

Tires: You should just ask what a shop wants for "Mount, balance, new valve stems, ask for anti-corrosion goo for the rims, and tire disposal if you don't want your old ones to deal with" They aren't free to dispose of where I live.

Where to buy tires is your call as is the brand. Make sure any tire is the correct size and rating for the car. If you bring your own tires to a place YOU are responsible for the tires and where you bought them. If something is defective it's your problem vs a shop/tire store should stand by what they sell.

The price clubs: If that's what you want they allow non members to purchase items but here with a 5% surcharge - do the math vs the cost of the membership. Some clubs do the tire installations - check.

You should also consider a four wheel alignment if you are getting new tires that's a great time to get that done for the best life and performance out of the tires.

The pricing you stated doesn't add up. Just ask what the charges are "a la carte" and they should just tell you or even have it posted.....
