I just bought a one owner 2002 Ford Crown Victoria. It has just over 52,000 mi. and garaged in the winter. Now I want to replace the tires but am so confused as what kind. Someone told me to put Toyo on the car. I am in my early 70"s and have no idea as what to buy. I don't want to spend hours on the web researching. Can someone give me an idea as to what to buy. I want something that will last and will be good in all weather. Thank You so much Justme.

****************** THAT MAY BE A START AT UNDERSTANDING TIRES. TIRES ARE RATED FOR TEMPERATURE TOLERANCE, EXPECTED TREADWEAR LIFE EXPRESSED AS A # - THE HIGHER THE LONGER LIFE OF LEGAL TREAD WOULD BE EXPECTED AND ITS TRACTION RATING. THERE'S SOME CONLICT IN GETTING THE BEST TRACTION AND THE LONGEST LIFE AS ONE IS NOT CONDUSIVE TO THE OTHER. IN OTHER WORDS - A REAL AGGRESSIVE SNOW/ICE TIRE ISN'T EXPECTED TO LAST THE MOST MILES. YOU NEED TO CHOOSE DEPENDING ON YOUR NEEDS AND DESIRES. MY FAVS FOR BRANDS ARE COOPER AND MICHELIN RIGHT NOW. ON MY OWN RWD FULL SIZE FORD PRODUCTS WHICH NOTORIOSLY STINK IN SNOW I BUY REAL SNOW TIRES FOR THE REAR - COOPER MAKES A "WEATHERMASTER" WHICH ISN'T EVEN RATED FOR LIFE AND I LEAVE THEM ON ALL YEAR AS THEY HANDLE WELL AND DON'T MAKE SNOW TIRE NOISE. MY CALL AS THE CAR DOESN'T GO 4,000 MILES A YEAR AND CLOSE TO NEVER IN SNOW EXCEPT FOR JOCKEYING CARS AROUND FOR SNOW REMOVAL. SAME CAR CURRENTLY HAS GOODYEAR "WEATHERHANDLER" ALL SEASONS ON FRONT WITH A TREADWEAR RATING OF 560 WHICH IS ABOUT AS HIGH AS YOU'LL FIND. THAT # IS AN APPROXIMATION WHICH = ABOUT 80,000 MILES WHICH IMO IS A JOKE. FOR YOUR CROWN VIC I SUGGEST PAYING ATTENTION TO TRACTION RATINGS MORE THAN LIFE EXPECTANCY AS THEY REALLY BENEFIT FROM THE BETTER RATED TRACTION IN ALL SITUATIONS. EACH BRAND WILL HAVE LOWER TO HIGHER PRICED TIRES THAT WILL FIT AND ARE FINE BUT KNOW WHAT YOU WANT AND ASK. THE LATEST ON TIRES WHICH HAS BEEN KNOWN FOR A VERY LONG TIME IS HOW OLD IS THE TIRE YOU ARE BUYING. THEY ARE CLEARLY MARKED WITH A WEEK OF THE YEAR FOLLOWED BY A TWO DIGIT # FOR THE YEAR. ASK ABOUT THAT - IF YOU WANT THE BEST LIFE THE NEWER THE BETTER AND STORAGE PROBLEMS AND DEFECTS ARE LESS LIKELY! ALSO, SHOULD YOU NEED A SINGLE REPLACEMENT IT'S MORE LIKELY TO FIND THE EXACT TIRE TO MATCH. BEWARE OF SALES AS SOMETIMES THEY ARE THE OLD TIRES OR DISCONTINUED VERSIONS WHICH IS FINE IF YOU ARE AN INFORMED CONSUMER. NOTE/COMMENT: OF ALL THE THINGS THAT CONTROL A CAR, ASSIST IN TRACTION, STEERING, STOPPING THE ONLY THING THAT TOUCHES THE ROAD SURFACE IS THE TIRE! WE FORGET SO EASILY HOW IMPORTANT THEY ARE! T
