Troubleshooting a mechanic's warranty

Hi everyone- I had a new clutch installed in my Mazda Tribute DX 2002 ( 4cyl, 2.0l, 140,000m) last week and have had clutch chatter in 1st and reverse since then. Upon further inspection it has become clear that I have a bad rear motor/transmission mount and the motor is rocking when I engage in 1st and reverse. Now, since the mechanic detached and reinstalled the transmission and had to work through this mount, would this replacement be something that would be counted under the labor warranty? Technically, it can be deduced that this engine mount broke or was not tightened properly during the clutch labor. I don't mind paying for the part, but it's the labor that I am worried about. I am taking it in tomorrow morning to have the axle seal replaced (the seal broke when they were reinstalling the trans and is now leaking fluid). Thanks for any advice.

Why would you think that the shop would be responsible for a subsequent motor mount failure. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

The motor mount did not fail after the work. They gave the car back to me with this problem. It was a product of the the work that was done. That is why I am asking this question.

Same answer. Why would you expect this to be their problem? They are not responsible for your motor mount failure.

Because the mechanic broke the part during the install of a different part. Which, logically, puts the mechanic at fault of breaking this part. It's not like he put the clutch in and then the motor mount failed. It was not a subsequent failure. I don't really know how I can be much clearer about this question. The issue at hand is "you break it you pay for it." What is the logic behind your answer?

The logic behind my answer is you claim is ridiculous. If you plan on going there and accusing him of breaking the motor mount, you'd better be prepared for him to laugh in your face. That's basically impossible to break a good mount. Stop looking for ways to blame other people for your car failures. The mount was rotten and worn out. That's the only way mounts fail.

I am not looking for ways to blame someone else for my car failures. I know my car is old and things are wearing out. I am simply stating the situation that occurred and asking for advice on how to approach it, which is what this forum is for. And you are not giving me advice -- you are telling me that I am being asinine for even asking such a question. I am not asking for anyone to agree with me, but instead how to talk to my mechanic about this situation in terms of the labor costs and possible coverage. You are not being helpful, you are being reproachful. You have no idea about me or my experience with this garage, but you are passing judgment on me and my situation.

You asked a question and you don't like the answer. You don't have a leg to stand on and I'm not going to advise you otherwise. This shop is not responsible for you motor mount failure in any way. I don't know how to make it any clearer. They won't be responsible if your radio fails either.
