I posted earlier about having fuel pump issues. There was a short behind the dash. I fixed the wiring, hooked everything back up, and cranked the engine. Wouldn't start. Fuel Pump Relay just clicked, fuel pump wouldn't hum.

Tested the FPR. Works fine. Jumpered the connections for the FP. Hummed beautifully. Did some reading, and came to the conclusion the fuel pump relay had a bad ground. Looked at the bundle of wires going through the firewall and said, "there's got to be a better way..."

So I spliced the ground wire from the fuel pump relay harness, and ran it directly to the engine block.

Now when I turn the key to the "ON" position, the fuel pump hums like a champ.

PROBLEM: The fuel pump doesn't stop humming. I'm pretty sure it's only supposed to hum for 2 seconds to prime the engine.

So I'm obviously missing something. Question is what? Can anyone out there tell me what's going on? Is the ground from the FPR switched by the computer? Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!!

Thanks,
Jason

OK - you found something and notice more but please continue on your original thread not make a new one which makes us hunt around for things already done or what.

I won't but expect this thread to be locked and continue with the other please,

Yeah, I fixed the first issue (bad ground on the fuel pump relay) but ran into the new issue.

So now I'm guessing that the ground wire is actually switched by the computer. I'm considering just running a new ground wire from the relay to the computer. Just I have no idea where the computer is on a 93 Nissan pickup (v6)...

Locked! Didn't want any more on this new thread. Saw the original. Can't follow two threads on same subject matter/vehicle and make any sense,
