Used 2000 Sable, Tune Up/Oil Change

I just bought a 2000 mercury sable wagon at around 155k with no engine lights on. I am going to take it in for a tune up and an oil change and am wondering if high mileage oil is worth the extra cash, and which parts of the manufacturer recommended tune up I should actually get done right away. The full tune up is around $150 because the car just passed 150k, and the oil change is a $20 difference for high mileage or standard. I'm thinking about doing a high mileage package, mostly because I have no clue what the previous owner has running through the engine right now, and if it's synthetic I dont want to switch back to standard... Thanks for the help!

You answered your question on the oil. If you change the oil according to the manufacturer and keep it to the proper level, the convential oil is fine. On the tune up, plugs, wires(if yours has them), air filter, fuel filter. A good inspection by a trusted tech is always a good thing to have done. Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds
