I purchased a 1995 GMC Sonoma ZR2 last weekend and I’ve had an issue with it vibrating over 65+mph, but the vibrating goes in and out, for example it’ll vibrate for about 10 seconds and gradually get worse then it almost goes completely away for about 10 seconds then constantly repeats, which has me scratching the hell out of my head. I went to get an alignment done and I was told I needed front end work before I could get an alignment so I was like okay cool, found my issue, so I replaced my wheel bearings and my idler arm and it helped out a lot with how the truck felt when driving, then I went and got my wheels balanced, almost feels like a brand new truck, but I hit the interstate to test it out over 65 and the same problem still persist. Any ideas? It’s just strange to me that it slowly comes and slowly goes away and repeats the process, only thing I haven’t done yet is get new tires and get an alignment, but I’m going to get the alignment regardless but something tells me maybe that’s not the issue, and I’d like to hold off on gambling by getting new tires as it has a $700+ set of tires that have a lot of life left. Any help would be highly appreciated!

Somewhat expect that with tires mostly will not be worn exactly is why frequent rotation can help. Pretty sure what's happening is they slowly do NOT travel the same distance as they are not identically round and that spot lines up with another for some time and passes that cancels it then repeats.
Noticed on nicer roads at exactly 55-65 MPH bet you find it quits just adding 5 MPH where legal.
Alignment will be called for but only after any and all worn parts involved fixed. New tires (take a real hard look at them) even if legal just low do those right before the alignment.
Notes: Alignment doesn't cause this IMO and experience. New tires are not perfect either nor wheels so always get balanced. I may stand alone but rebalancing or times one needs to be off rim OMG mark where it was put back indexed to same position to same wheel.
Can't speak for all the tire mostly places but a marker "V" that washes off where valve stem is + and inside or outside indication.
High hope with tires you can keep new ones (several round no doubt on a 1995) the life of them it's blown if part worn to do just one if one damaged and replaced. Suks - same exact one will not be the same in short time will mean do in pairs or OMG all of them.
Last - even this old listed intervals for rotations is way too long IMO and FWD, Truck or 4X4 drive will wear them at different rates is a pest do them at about 3,000 miles if at all possible delay when this will happen as long as you can,

Add one more: Plain old (five years!) for steel and now universally radial tires this becomes normal tread will separate almost no matter what you do worn or not - bummer!

I can assure you that wheel alignment will not cure a vibration.
Since it comes and goes which I'm assuming is at a constant speed, one possibility could be that there is something loose inside one of the tires like water or fix-a-flat or some other foreign object.

That makes a lot of sense, I feel like the fix a flat you mentioned could most likely be the culprit here, I personally would never use it but I also bought this truck from a teenager and I’ve been going through fixing a lot of his screw arounds on it, and I can almost guarantee he did in fact use fix a flat because you can see a small goo like substance coming from a spot on the tire and it’s not a plug, so I think this is the culprit.

The only practical use for that stuff is to get you from the highway to a repair shop and even then you should look for a better way and the repair shop will hate you when he has to deal with that goo.
It was never intended as a permanent fix.

OMG, forgot about that stuff! Sure would do that. Yup - tire place will HATE you but if life saving a good thing.
It's factory fill for many farm or yard equipment you don't have spare tires and no speed so useful. You can tell just point valve stems DOWN and let air spit out will shoot yuk at you - oh lovely! NOT! Tom
PS: It wrecks common tire gauges so use a cheap or old one now till that's out!
