Re: WINDOWS Sign In

Most door panels are good at hiding screws and fasteners.

If carpeted on the bottom feel for screws. If you see vinyl plugs ar arm rest they should just be friction fit concealing fasteners.

Look at the door handle which may be able to stay.

Now---- most use plastic zipper push in clips and it really helps to have the tool for that which looks like a flattened out trowel with a slot in it and you can feel that you are on a clip and pry it out. Some will break no doubt, some will stay in the door and not the panel and they are cheap and available. Panel may want to go up to get it out

There should be plastic to minimize drafts when panel is off that you may need to duct tape up as they don't always like to come off and restick when you put it back together.

If the door panel has any wiring it should give you enough room to unhook them.

Use caution not to break stuff as best you can as it's hard stuff to find.

If you have a pick your own junk yard go look at one already apart for where they hid all the fasteners.
Good luck, T

Re: WINDOWS Sign In

OOps. When I read the first post I misread it that you didn't know how to take the panel off - sorry.

To get on track you are going to have to look at it and see what they did for that car. Some use levers and rollers to lift and hold and I've even seen a plastic perforated belt which could be replaced and a Mazda once had a string of beads on a wire. Customer brought that whole part in which was easy but she said it cost over $300 bucks. Heck!! I'd have gotten new wire and restrung it myself If I new it was that much!!

I'll bet the bottom of the glass has a gutter type greased rail that could use a roller or nylon block and has fallen out. You would them have to jockey the glass to get it back in place.

Some cars just rivot all kinds of these parts for this stuff or spot weld adjustments so you carefully bend things.

Are there any missing parts that should be found inside the door?

For future and readers just know that a window should be closed when you shut the door. They are not meant to be slammed and can't take it for long.

Keep at it we'll get there, T
