Could be like a neutral safety switch. Try starting it in neutral instead of park or if a standard push the clutch down hard as those disable the starter too if not pushed to disengage, T

Tryed that no change in the way it acts. I am wondering if there might be a relay somewhere? Do you know of any and where it might be located? Thanks for your help. Tom

Don't try to figure out computers. They will simply do what they want and just accept that. Damn engineers of these contraptions don't know what a keyboard is and I'd bet big $ that none of them can type without looking or have more than two fingers to do it. Ha! I'm trying to smell out your problem and what is needed now is to find out if 12v makes it to the starter solonoid from the ignition request for start. If it does and doesn't pass on current to the starter at all the solonoid would be at fault. Bad connection will usually have different symptoms than you posted. There should be known good connections of the battery cables at both ends. Are there any theft controls, alarms, remote starters, etc., AFTERMARKET ESPECIALLY that could be involved with this? T

I would like to thank you guys for your help. I got fed up and pulled the starter and took it in to be tested. It failed all the tests so I got a new one. The car fired right up. That is the first time I have ever had a starter not make any noise when it goes bad. Again thanks for all the help. I will keep this site inmind if I have an more questions
