antilock brake light

I was driving our chevy capri wagon the other day and the antilock brake light flashed in and out as did the radio.(maybe more things I'm not sure) I pulled over and turned the car off. When I went to restart it it wouldn't start. I waited about 2 minutes tried again, and it started up fine, no problems for 2 weeks. It did it again today for just a few seconds. I am concerned, but don't know what to have checked? fuses, anitlock brakes??? Any suggestions for me?

This is just a wild guess but it may be an intermittent charging system issue; as in the alternator might not always be charging the battery? Once the battery voltage does down to a certain point, some of the control modules will start to shut down, turning on/flashing warning lights. I seen it before; a battery that is in good condition and not being charged, while driving, will almost be dead and not be able to start the car; like in your situation. Allowing the battery to sit for a few minutes and it will kind of come back up a bit and give you one last start. Like I said this is just a guess but I would have the charging system tested for possible intermittent operation. Dan. Canadian "EH"
