battery drain Mystery!

I have a new battery and a new alternater and something is still draining my battery. The batterry light stays on and the car cuts off because of the battery drain while driving. I even got the new battery and alternater checked just in case i purchased bad parts...they check out fine. I saw somewhere on the "net" that a bad starter could be causing the battery drain problem. Could this be true? I never heard of a bad starter killing a battery! could a bad starter be associated with this problem?

It would be a problem in the starter solenoid switch/ or ignition module. what year and make is the vehicle? On some vehicles the computer controls the charging of the battery.
