I replaced the battery some time ago on my 97 Bonneville. The shop had to call GM to get an ID number to key into the radio for it to work again (security sys). I need another battery. Is there a way to get around this?

There is a memory saver that you can buy at a parts house. t consists of a 9 volt battery and an adapter to plug into the cigaratte lighter. This is enough power to save all the settings in the car.
