buick rear windows

I have a 2002 buick lesabre and not long ago the rear pass. window decided to just drop down. I took things apart and found the cable twisted up with one end of it pulled away from it's mount. I figured someone had their hand on the botton and broke it. Then the rear drivers window did the same thing, do these electric cranks wearout like this or does someone break them ?

Thats what they do. Usually one of the plastic parts fails then allows the cable to get all twisted and jammed in the gear. (or at least thats what it looks like to me) Either way I usually do new motor/regulator even if motor seems fine, as its not a ton more $ and IMO motor isnt too far behind. ____________________________________________________ Willing to help, willing to learn... Yes - whole regulator and motor assembly. Many available aftermarket. Comment on the fish reel and type. Junk that doesn't tolerate much. Hates being forced when cold, door slamming and age. Many do it that way and many if frozen can mess up more than one if played with especially while frozen or if you just hold switch the motor keeps tugging away. Many are riveted in with a large size rivet. There is the problem as that gun is pricey. Another car maker completely but couldn't fake it with nuts and bolts for clearance. Not a great design but wildly common - stinks, T

Maybe have a look here to buy the replacement regulators. They're a ton cheaper then the dealer. http://www.carjunky.com/...t=window%20regulator I know I know Links are not allowed; but I think this link is an exception. If you don't like it tough; right boss! (AKA CarJunky) LOL Dan.
