can anyone diagnose this problem Sign In

I drive a manual car and when i start my engine and move for the first time I hear a rattling noise that lasts about 2 seconds. Then I don't hear the noise again no matter how much I stop and go until the next time I start my engine and move.

Look around the starter for something loose there. An exhaust heat shield or whatever might be nearby - even the starter itself my not be tight enough??

So is it possible that something is lose around my exhaust? Because it feels like the noise is coming from behind, and it only happens the first time i start moving, its like once the exhaust starts vibrating it moves something into place.

Tap around with a rubber hammer on exhaust etc., with everything cold and you probably will find what makes the noise,
