I have a 1987 Mazda B2200 truck that i bought the timing belt was installed wrong so i replaced it and the coil was missing so i got another one and the truck will not start unless i take the bolt out of the distributor and turn it past the adjustment slot and put the bolt back in to hold the distributor in place but the truck dies if i try to give it gas I am at a complete loss please help if there is something i am overlooking or maybe missing

That sounds like either the timing belt is still out of time or someone moved the distributor by one tooth when it was previously out of time. This is an interference engine so you usually don't get a second chance when the timing belt is installed wrong as it will quickly bend the valves. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
