catalytic converter Sign In

can the failure of the catalytic converter cause the car engine to just shut off while driving and not crank back up.

Anything is possible but for a converter to be plugged to the point of causing a stall; I think you would have other running issues, as in overall loss in performance well before the stall.

thank for your responce that was my thought.but i quest i am grasping at straws.this thing just stopped while going down the road. i ckecked fuel pump it was ok. i ckecked for fire its ok. with limited knowledge of cars i didnt know what else to check. i quest as a last chance i will just have to take it to someone to ckeck it out. thanks again, jay
