cannot find reverse light switch. reverse lights not working but bulbs and fuse ok. local vauxhall dealer tells me it's located in the selector unit. I suggested it could be the FCU as the management lights comes on when starting and only gos off if I rev up and the turn the ignition off and on quickly. They replaced the FCU last september which took 4 days. They told me it was separate from the FCU According to the Haynes manual the FCU connects directly to the reverse light switch. I am now assuming that the cause is either the reverse light switch or the FCU itself. Hopefully there's an expert out there

Hi I'll venture a guess here... First off,I have never seen a Vauxhall other than in pictures...but I know that its manufactured by GM. Since your dealer said its part of the selector switch ,I thought I'd offer you this..see if it helps. Its pics of the Chevrolet Cavalier/Pontiac Sunbird locations of the Park/Neutral Safety Switch (Transmission Range sensor)which also functions as the backup lamp switch. Dont know if its the same setup/similar or not at all. I've read where the earlier Vauxhall cavaliers were on the same J body platform... Hope it helps you in finding yours... Click here... Let us know Jim
