Hi all, my car (VW passat, 2000) had a small oil leak so i fixed it in Firestone. they suggested that, as a safety issue, i should also change the ball joints, so i did. when i picked up the car, it was making a clunking noise on deceleration.. so i took it back. after a couple of days they suggested is the noise is due to the weared engine mounts, but they are not sure... they said they checked everything and they can't figure out what else can be. this is strange because the car was fine before the ball joints replacement. Firestone sucks. any advice? Thank you

I would seek a second opinion from a different shop . Then if its related to Firestones repair, take it back to them. It just may be co-incidental.I know thats hard to believe, but anything is possible with a used vehicle. Get the Store manager involved,Service manager and contact Corporate if need be! Keep us posted Jim
