double-faced adhesive tape?

2007 Nissan Versa, 1.8L, ~60,000 mi. Ok, so as per usual, things are getting more complicated as I go along with the "simple" strut spring removal and replacement I'm planning to do. I probably overlooked it the first time I went through the service manual, but it turns out I need to remove the plastic cowl cover that butts up against the bottom of the windshield in order to get at the three nuts holding the top of the strut in place. Not a difficult job in and of itself so far as I can tell, but it throws a bit more complexity at the whole project. The service manual mentions that once this plastic cowl is removed the "EPT seal" and "double-faced adhesive tape" must be replaced. EPT seal i was able to find through the nissan parts catalog for not a lot of money, but there's no mention of exactly what kind of "double-faced adhesive tape" they've used to hold some of these components to the bottom of the windshield. (The cowl is in three pieces, with the small edge pieces apparently being held in place only by this tape. Yeah, I double and triple-checked, I'll definitely have to remove all three pieces, just like the manual says.) So, is there some standard automotive tape for this kind of application, or does it vary by manufacturer or what? Thanks in advance for the help, these forums are fantastic. Hopefully someday I'll know enough to be able to contribute.
