I have a '91 Merc. Capri 1.6 and need to know how to remove baffle off front of crankshaft to replace timing belt. It is either a nut or bolt and the crank turns if I try to turn it. How do I hold the crank in position to remove the baffle to remove the belt? It is a 1.6 Mazda engine with 83K miles. Thanks!!!

Just a try, I've never been into one of these cars, but I've often takes off the insection cover for the torque converter and CARFULLY(so as not to do damage to anything when twisting) inserted a prybar or large screwdriver between the torque and the flywheel to hold the engine. A little backwardy, yes, but it works. Hope it does for you.
