flashing red hazard led light question Sign In

I have a really stupid question. I just got a used car (ford focus) and when I remove the key from the ignition, there is a flashing red light next to a triangle hazard button on the console. No matter what I do, the light will not stop flashing. Is it just supposed to flash always when the key is not in the ignition or is there a problem? Thanks for any helpful response.

Do you have an aftermarket theft device on this car? Some use things like that to scare away a would be car theif. If the car is new to you find out about that as using a different key may set something off or disable the car, T

its antitheft system indicator, that just tells you that the alarm is armed. some just have that flashing light to scare off people who would otherwise try and steal a car.
