for the past month, i've been noticing that my fuel gauge is acting weird. when i drive about 14 miles after filling up, my gauge is between full and 3/4 full and the needle fluctuates. i know that the needle is wrong because i got 27-30 to the gallon last fill up and i's been around that for the past month. is this another indication that i have a stuck fuel injector or what is it?

I can't think of a connection between the fuel injectors and the gauge system which starts with the sender in the gas tank and ends at your dash gauge. Problem could be either. Keep track of how far you can go and fill it up and count miles as it my just be a fluke but you'll know by miles that you need more of that liquid GOLD! Back to gas smell in the oil. The oil would get real thin or thinner if that's true and you could test that yourself with some new oil of same viscosity on a plain piece of white paper or paper towel using the same diptick with just a drop and see if the two spread out at different rates. Must do that with a cold engine. If car's oil is old now it may be a bit faster. Can you smell this gas yourself? Take the dipstick away from the car to avoid confusion with the car maybe having the leak elsewhere. If you just plain smell gas under the hood it MUST be tended to at once! Keep us posted with the progress and good luck, T
