I have a 95 olds cierra, 3.1L 6cyl. I relaced 2 clogged fuel injectors and went through and replaced all suspect vacuum lines and the thermostat which had a weak spring. the compression test averaged 155-160psi on all 6 cylinders and the engine runs super strong. problem is i used to get 300-350mpg depending on city vs. highway and now get 220-240 average. What coud possibly be wrong and can the air/fuel ratio be adjusted manually to make a significant difference? Thank you.

Where can I buy one of these...300 miles per gallon...WOW>> Seriously... Many, many factors affect fuel economy.. Has the vehicle been tuned up...You replaced a couple injectors... How about the spark plugs? Start with a basic tune up,plugs wires, fuel and air filters, pcv valve...etc Change the oil and filter. Make sure all tires are inflated properly... No,the air /fuel mixture is controlled by the computer and cannot be adjusted. Have the computer checked for any trouble codes. Thats a good starting point Jim

Sorry about that......MPTankfull would have been more apropo, but I see you got my drift. Plugs were changed as well as wires , no codes thrown on diagnostic. It has coil packs which are all firing hot. What else could a tune-up provide except possibly a timing change? I mean the car jams when I punch the accelerator, no hesitation! Why so much fuel?

dear GAs hog, My mileage dropped from 20 to 12 and it was the O2 sensor. It got bent by a mechanic doing a "tune up". He apparently dropped something on it. When I got it back the mileage had plummeted and the exhaust pipe had soot in it. Terry
