Just bought a 1989 prelude si and it smokes when accelerating and i am also smelling gas on the oil dipstick. The rings were just replaced and the car runs awesome and lots of power. what may cause the gas in the oil?

The most common cause of that is a leaking fuel injector. This could be due to a problem with the injecter itself but could also be an electrical problem in the car. The way to check this is with a fuel pressure gauge. Check to see if the pressure holds constant when the car is shut of. If the pressure drops right away, it means the fuel is leaking somewhere, likely right into the cylinder. Get the oil changed ASAP though. Don't run it with diluted oil. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
