help! new to this forum. I have a 2008 honda accord 2 door coupe, 4 cylinder LX. I couldnt get the bright bulb socket out to replace two dead bulbs (they went bad one and then two seconds later the other). took to shop. guy said i had wrong bulbs (sylvania 9005) and put in two of his. H300 or something he said? Anyway, now my bright bulbs are on all the time like the normal lights and the normal lights went out all the time. turning on the bright switch changes nothing. I think its because he is using the wrong bulb. All the fuses check out fine. Anyone have a clue? will putting the correct bulbs in fix it? Thank you in advance.

i didnt know if this could be some kind of issue with amps or something being incorrect that would cause the regular bulbs to go out, etc...

The coupe takes an H11 for low beam. The 9005 fits the sedan low beam and high beam for both. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

The wrong bulbs are probably affecting the operation of the daytime running lamps. It would be important to use the correct bulbs because the DRL system uses the highbeams as the DRL lamps. Were the bulbs he removed in the beginning actually bad? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

What is wrong with your mechanic changing your bulbs and not testing the system to make sure it is operating properly before he gave the car back to you???? I'm seeing this a lot on here where someone takes their car to get worked on and then when they pick up their vehicle it isn't right. Then the person comes on here looking for advice. If you pay your mechanic to diagnose and repair something, it should be operating as per manufacture's specs when you get the car back. That's unless your using a fly-by-night. Honda has a high beam bulb and a regular light bulb in each assembly. My DRL went out a month ago. My regular lights still worked and brights. Then, last week, both bright bulbs went out one about 5 seconds before the other. I bought bright bulbs 9500 and he said wrong, takes H11. He put H11 in bright bulb spot. Did nothing to DRL or regular bulb. Now turn lights on and bright bulbs are lit, but only normal brightness. Regular bulbs are out. Old bulbs filament looked fine to me but they weren't lighting. So I think the old bright bulbs weren't burned out but they weren't lighting. Thank you for the help.

Do you even have the correct bulbs installed everywhere yet? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
