I know nothing about cars, but I have a Mazda 626 and in the past week it hasn't started 3 times and I have had to have it jumped. The light on the doors come on, but the car won't turn over. Its completely dead when you turn the key, won't even ding when the key is in the ignition. I heard that it might be the starter or the battery, I hate to spend money on one thing and it be the other because even the battery is $125. Which one do you think it is?

first ,start at the beginning, nothing can happen without a good battery, have the battery checked...sounds like that may be your problem unless there is something draining the battery. how old is it? if battery is 3 plus yearsold, good time to replace it. most autoparts places ,like autozone will test the battery for free. the vehicle can have lights and such but not enough power to turn over/start with a bad battery. you don't even need to take the battery out, just jump it and drive it over to them to test. hope this helps...... post back with results. jim
