hi there. i have a 94 ford thundebird that was in a front end collision it wont start. you can hear the fuel pump come on when i try to start it and if i put some starter fluid in it it'll start up but when it runs out of starter fluid it will shut off. there is also a black box under the hood that makes this very annoying sound to when i turn the ignition on

This black box is it near the front on the rad support? If so then it’s likely the IRCM (integrated relay control module) that’s making all the noise. The IRCM houses all the relays that are needed to run the engine, including the fuel pump relay. This IRCM may have been damaged during the accident or the wiring to has been damaged. There’s a single common ground wire for all the relays inside the IRCM. This ground wire is also bolted to the rad support; check that it’s in good condition and making a good connection. According to my wiring diagram it’s the solid black wire coming out of the IRCM. Follow it from the IRCM to where it’s bolted to the rad support; maybe you’ll get lucky and find that it’s become disconnected/cut during the accident. One last thing these IRCM boxes are not cheap so don’t go changing it on a guess; take the car in and have someone test it for you. Dan. Canadian "EH"
