I have a '95 Isuzu Rodeo with power door locks. The front doors work fine, however the rear doors have stopped working and now will not open. The actuator is working in both doors as the locking indicator is going up and down. However when you try to open the door, the handle on both the inside and outside just rotates freely and doesn't release the catch. I have found a post that says that the problem is the rear door lock bellcrank pivot and details how to change it and even gives the part number. However, the doors are still locked and I haven't figured out how to open them without going to a slim jim. Any help or ideas will be appreciated.

There's a child safe feature on most car back doors that only allow them to open from outside. It's a switch in the door jam and if it gets left in the middle door won't work in or out! Nice safety feature!! That may NOT be the issue but know it exists. Can't really believe both did the same?? A body shop may be your best bet if all attempts fail to get them open with minimal or no damage. Keep trying both in and out handles and hopefully you'll get them open. Last one worked for me after many tries and it was the stupid switch! Good luck,
